I graduated from Smithfield-Selma High (NC) in 2001 and entered NCSU in fall of the same year, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. As part of an SRC fellowship, I began working in the Surface Science Lab in the summer of 2003. I am currently working on analyzing various materials, including high-K dialectrics and metal silicides, using Conductive-tip Atomic Force Microscopy (CAFM), to explore the relationship between electrical properties and structure at the surface. I am also working with Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (PFM) to explore the switching dynamics of various ferroelectric thin films, such as barium titanate.
